Introducing the LAMB Leaderboard

You hopefully can't miss the new table on the sidebar. Assuming that's true, let me explain.

The LAMB Leaderboard is a way for the LAMB to scratch the backs of the sites that have scratched the LAMB's back - in other words, it's a ranking of the top 10 sites that are sending visitors to the LAMB. The plan is to update it every week (Sunday - Saturday). For this first entry (March 2 - March 8), the numbers are lower than normal because I wasn't tracking the data through the particular source that I'm using until just a few days ago (long story short - it's a truncated list, but I've got to start somewhere).

Lest you look at the board (and see Blog Cabins at #1) and think I'm being self-serving, allow me to retort: changing that is exactly my hope. I challenge you to best BC, and I'll be thrilled when someone does.

As you no doubt noticed, there is an image located next to each site name. The way this will work is easy: if a LAMB has sent me a banner for the Random LAMB widget (200 X 90), I'll use a miniature version of it for this leaderboard; if not, I'm inserting a generic cartoon LAMB. UPDATE 12/7/08

Three things have changed in regards to the board. First, it's a monthly tally instead of weekly, which ought to help out my updating schedule. Second, it's expanded to 20 sites. Finally (and this is what ought to appeal the most to you), the monthly leader (the Big LAMB on Campus?) will be eligible to get their Random LAMB banner featured in a new "ad space" directly above where the board currently sits for the entire following month. If they haven't sent one in to me, I'll give them a chance to. If they're not interested, I'll move on down the line.
