If YOU would like to participate, all you need is: Eyes The ability to read other people's blogs To be a member of the LAMB, or about to be a member Copy and paste skills A #2 pencil And three hard boiled eggs.
I'm gonna suggest, nay, recommend that you send in a chop FROM SOMEONE ELSES BLOG (who is also a LAMB). We need people sending in other people's stuff instead of your own so this can be more of a forum of "hey this person wrote a great piece" instead of self pimpage. There's nothing wrong with self pimpage (I'm guilty of it myself) but we kinda wanna take this LAMB Chops, AND Bloody Chops, into the future. So let's see how that goes. Here's what you need to do:
Using the following format, email me at weeklylambchops@gmail.com the chop you think is great: Site: Post Title: Link: Submitted by:
And let's try the same for the Bloody Chops as well. You can send those to bloodychops@gmail.com.
Have the LAMB Chops sent in by midnight next Monday night, EST. Have the Bloody Chops sent in by midnight THIS Friday night, EST.
As always if you are confused (I dunno why but whatever), feel free to leave a comment saying "I'm confused!" and me or Fletch will unconfuse you.
(Editor's Note: this site is no longer functioning. Thanks to its author for submitting to the LAMB, and pour some out for a fallen homie.)

Because there seems to be some confusion on how you exactly send in a Chop, I shall SLOWLY go over each step, pretty much like I always do. Here we go.
If you reading this, who is already a LAMB or going to be a LAMB, like this whole thing, and want to submit a chop here's what you do: 1. Either after writing a post related to horror (review, essay, thoughts, lists, whatever), or READING a post related to horror, both from a LAMB member, you go to your email, put TO: bloodychops@gmail.com and you fill out the following form: Site Name: Post Title: Link: Submitted by:
Yes, you have to copy and paste the form. Please use this form, it makes my job so much easier.
2. You send it off and I get it. 3. I look at the post and go "Hmm...should this be part of the five?" 4. Then on Saturday I post the five. 5. You have until Midnight Friday night Eastern Standard Time (EST) to do this. 6. For the regular chops, you do almost the same thing except you send in posts about ANYTHING ELSE, send them to weeklylambchops@gmail.com, and have those sent in by midnight Monday night EST.
I hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you and have a nice day. -Jason

See what our fellow movie lovers at Total Film had to say about Dinner for Schmucks:
Hey everybody, Travis from the Movie Encyclopedia here with another edition of Trailer Talk Thursday where I bring you the latest trailers to hit the silver screen.
Today we will be talking about two films that have become quite popular before the trailers were ever released: 127 Hours and Black Swan. Why have they become popular? Two reasons:
The movie's director (Danny Boyle for 127 Hours, Darren Aronofsky for Black Swan)
The subject matter (Aron Ralston being true story of survival and deranged ballerina's)
But now the time for talk and speculation about the movies is over. We finally get our first glimpse into these two highly anticipated films. First up...127 Hours.
127 Hours, as I mentioned, is the story of Aron Ralston (James Franco). He is a mountaineer who enjoys living on the edge. One day though, without telling anyone about his plans, he went canyoneering and slipped and fell down the canyon. A boulder dislodged and crushed his arm. The bigger issue than his arm being crushed was that he was pinned and couldn't escape because of the boulder holding his now crushed arm down. What makes this story interesting and why they made a movie about him is that after 5 days of being trapped, he cut off his arm with a dull blade and escaped to live and tell the tale.
Danny Boyle, who has become famous with films like Trainspotting, 28 Days/Weeks Later and Slumdog Millionaire, and Simon Beaufoy (who wrote Slumdog) have teamed up to create this true story of survival. Here is the trailer:
What do I think? Well it looks pretty good actually. I think Franco is a fantastic actor and can really pull off serious and funny well. Like Ryan Reynolds with "Buried" it will be interesting to see if he can basically do a 1 man show (there are other people but it IS about him). I believe he can pull it off and I look forward to the movie.
Next up is Black Swan.
Black Swan is an interesting one. Aronofsky, who has made a name for himself with Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain and The Wrestler, had started a screenplay about understudies and doubles but never finished it. Soon afterwards he had watched Swan Lake and decided to connect the two, making the film about ballerina's, understudies and Swan Lake. If you know Swan Lake at all you will know that there are two main swans: the white one and the black one. The white one is innocent and the black one is more devious and sensual.
The idea of this film is that Nina (Natalie Portman), a ballerina who has dedicated her entire life to dance and nothing else, mostly in part to a former ballerina of a mother, suddenly receives competition for a role she wants when Lily (Mila Kunis) arrives and throws a wrench in her plans. Nina gets the role, with Lily as her understudy, but in Aronofsky fashion, things go terribly wrong. Here is the trailer:
So what do I think? Well I think it's kind of weird but extremely intriguing. I am a fan of Portman and Kunis and I think this looks like a great movie for both of them. It looks like it's going to be a mind freak, as per usual (especially the feather pulling thing at the end), but I'm really interested to see how it turns out. I'm not the biggest Aronofsky fan but I think I will like this one.
But that's my opinion. What do you think? Would you see these movies? Leave your comments below and I'll see you next time on Trailer Talk Thursday.
For the 36th episode of the LAMBcast, we take on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and break it down at least seven different ways. What worked, what didn't, favorite fights, lines, and general gushing from Nick, who has named it his new favorite movie ever...at least until Machete comes out (kidding, Nick). Joining him were Tom, James, and me. That's followed up by the usual Trailer Talk (Black Swan, I'm Still Here) and Last LAMB Standing, but also by the latest segment on the LAMBcast, the LAMB of the Week, which is more or less an audio, non-anonymous version of Brutally Blunt Blog Blustering.
For the inaugural edition, Heather of Movie Mobsters put her site's neck on the line, and we tore it to shreds gave it our best mix of compliments and constructive criticism. If you'd like your site to be a future LAMB of the Week, hit me up via email and I'll add you to the queue.
If you're interested, you too can be a LAMBcaster - we love new blood! For more information on the LAMBcast, check out the topic at the LAMB Forums. Music provided royalty-free by Kevin MacLeod's Incompetech website. Big thanks to Kevin for providing this service. The LAMBcast loves feedback, too. Either here in the comments section or to blogcabins@yahoo.com or to our Facebook page. Also, we're on iTunes, and would still love a review, even if it's a bad one.
And remember: Blustering should be a two-way street; if you've asked to be blustered, you better be a blusterer.
If you're new to this feature or need a refresher, click the label at the bottom of this post and see the first few posts. Otherwise, here's the basics:
What I'll do is list a site; you're asked to critique it. But here's the catch: to induce the most honest reactions, don't leave the comment using your normal alias/login - instead, go anonymous, and be as brutally honest (or complimentary) as you wish to be. Also, be specific, and naturally, don't be rude. If I deem anything inappropriate, I'll have no problem deleting the comment.
So, go to the site listed below, familiarize yourself with it for a few minutes, then come back and leave some constructive criticism and/or comments that you have.
If you're up for this treatment for your site (and you're a LAMB), send me an email with the subject "Bluster Me!" If you've already done so, no need to do it again - you're on the list, and these will be going up in order of when I received your email (by the way, it could take a while for your site to be Blustered, since I don't run this more than once a week or so).
What is the main focus of your site? To review recent movies and also have the top 5 best and worst things about the movie being reviewed. The website also contains polls so people can vote on what they think the best and worst part of the movie is.
I have an announcement to make beginning the first week of September of 2010… I Plan to create…Well, the Ning has already been created, but it is at stage one and hopefully, the first week of September of 2010, the thing that I created will be completed and accepting fellow Lammies.
I ‘am sooo…Baaah!...very sorry male LAMBs, but this social network is for females LAMBs (and non—female Lammies whom may be thinking about joining the LAMB) only!
Especially, new female Lammies, whom are just learning the "ropes" and may have unanswered questions and just want to network with their fellow Lammies...Therefore, if you are interested in joining the social network Ning, I will be promoting the thing in the upcoming days.
I know some of you maybe wondering why did she create this Ning...Well, just follow this link and you will find out why I created this social network...
What Is It All About? Well It‘s a Social Network Ning Called... “The Lammies Brew…”
When Will The Doors Open? Hopefully, The First Week of September…I shall open the doors to female LAMB members whom are interested in joining this social network.
[Attn: Membership is by invitation only. If you have an invitation, click the link in the email to join. This isn't true...This message appears when your Ning is set to private.]
Thank-you, very much! DeeDee ;-D

Classic Chops enthusiastically welcomes any essay or post you’ve composed on a film classic—and even though I originally set the criterion at films released in 1965 and before, I have “cheated” a little and included films after that date that I don’t think too many people would dispute are “classics.” Just remember, send your submissions to classicchops@gmail.com by next Tuesday (August 31) at 6:00pm EDT…and any questions, comments, suggestions and used ticket stubs should be addressed to that same e-mail address as well. Until next time…see you at the movies!
Ok folks. Sorry for the delay. I had to lay down the law. If you sent in more than one, I only went with the first one I recieved. I'll keep the others as back-up for the next week or so. Without further ado, here's all the Chops from the past two weeks.

What is the main focus of your site? Tinsel & Tine is a blog about discovering what's pleasing in Film and Food. However, most posts are film-centric; a combination of film commentary, film events and film festival coverage, told from the perspective of a lover of good storytelling and good eating!
Let's suppose, for a moment, that you think the LAMB is broken. You think it's kind of a good resource, but could be so much more. Or you really don't like anything we do here (in which case you're probably not reading this). Or you just think there's been a missed opportunity or two over the years. I know, pretty unfathomable.
Basically, my question to you is this: Suppose you're in my shoes - how would you make the LAMB even better than it is? Tech enhancements (somewhat difficult given my non-programming background and Blogger's limitations), content/feature ideas, better ways to market/promote existing and new LAMBs, you name it. You have an open forum to sound off on anything you might change, remove, add, etc. I'm not fishing for compliments, so if you think everything's hunky dory right now, I thank you, but there's no need to post that here. Also, please try to be constructive, as folks are with the Blustering, though no need for anonymity unless you choose to. If you prefer, you can even email your comments to me (just hit the Contact button).
LAMBS Scare Sarah and Cyberschizoid are campaigning to Bring Classic Horror Back to Television and they need your help! Warning: This podcast contains explicit language. Or at least a bunch of f-bombs, anyway.
Though, what else could you expect from a podcast where the feature discussion is about the BMF himself, badass Samuel L. Jackson. We shine the spotlight on the man responsible for some of the best moments in pop culture over the past 20 years - frequent collaborator of Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino, occasional Jedi Knight, and of course, the kilt-wearing, cornrow-sporting star of Formula 51.
On the episode joining me this week was Nick, Jason, Andrew and Kai. We finish with Trailer Talk about Barry Munday and Skyline as well as a pair of long-lasting LLS games.
